valve extensions

deep dish rims? You probably need long stem valves. Michellin,
Vittoria etc make them. 51, 52 & 60mm. Less hassle than valve
extensions.

The thing is I have these ultralight latex tubes. I think they weight about
50grams. Have 5 of them, and I dont want them to go to waste. I have some
long stem rubber ones, but I would prefer to use the latex ones when I race.

I accidentally bought a deep rim for the front of my mountain bike (a
mix up between the local bike shop and Velocity.) I use a valve extender
from my Spinergy wheels but it's a pain having to carry it around with
me and I'm scared I'll forget it one day and get a flat. Anyway it works
well, but I'm building up a new wheel with a shallower rim and an XTR
hub which should solve my problems.

I haven't used extensions, but when I had a short valve on a Velocity
Deep-V I discovered that my presta-schraeder adapter worked if I got it in
just the right place. This probably isn't a race tactic, but worth
remembering for anyone who might be stuck somewhere with those items and a
flat tyre.
