There's a lot of doping going on in swimming. More than likely, a lot of Australians are cheating
as well. Oddly though, the Australian competitors are quick to point fingers at other
international swimmers but rather reluctant to point out the Australian cheaters. Look at Susie
O'Niell for example.

My comment wasn't really directed at you or Australians in general. It was just a comment on
something that many in the swimming community have noticed over the years.
Australians seem to think they are only people with a strong swimming history and they get upset
when their records are broken, particularly by non-Americans. And on occassion, they've been known
to speculate as to whether their competitors may have been assisted by doping.

not something i've ever heard in serious conversation...maybe my cicles aren't the kind
you move in..

I think theres just as much if not more animosity when americans FAIL to break Australian records or
beat relays - as well there should be. For a country with a population the size of Australia to
challenge and beat the US, it must be quite frustrating. The US breaks far too many eggs to produce
the omlettes it creates.

People have a tendency to tune out the things they don't want to hear.

I don't think swimming rises to the general attention level in the USA where people get concerned
about who wins swimming meets. Ask the average person walking on the streets of most American cities
who Michael Phelps is and I'd wager that no more than 10% would know. There are probably 10 other
sports that rank higher on the attention meter.
Australia on the other hand lives and breathes by its swimming accomplishments. If it isn't the most
popular sport there, it certainly is near the top.
But Australia certainly holds the Per-Capita title, for whatever that's worth. That and fifty cents
will get you a cup of coffee, I'm sure.

You are just a troll. I didn't bring the issue of specific countries into this thread and I will
continue to steer clear of any country specific comments, especially ones as ignorant and irrelevant
as the one you made below.
