    Schueren.

  3. He has been given last final chances at Cofidis, Lampre, QuickStep, Fassa
before, and he's still a pro. Why panic now?

Don't you have a bleeding heart for a guy with so much misfortune? He's in
    hospital dammit.

It seems to me that he has 4 weeks according to Het ieuwsblad

How many teams are left that will even consider giving him a chance? He's down
to Mr. Bookmaker, for God's sake. No particular disrespect to Bookmaker, but
come on, they're hardly and of the aforementioned teams. How many teams below
Bookmaker's level even have any money to give Frank a job? He's not a charity
    case.

I wonder what the next problem will be when he is released.
I had a bleeding heart about two years ago for VDB. I truly hope that his
condition, whatever it is, doesn't resolve itself the way it did for Pantani,
but it just keeps going on and on.

You tell me, Bart, because I don't know, but does the Belgian public even have
VDB on the radar screen with Boonen doing everything Frank should be doing now?
Everytime I see Frank's name on a website I have to remind myself, "Oh yeah, he
is still a pro, isn't he?".

Maybe in 3 or 4 years he'll finally kick his problems - just in time for
    retirement.

  7. That's the point: he knows he'll always get last chances. And that is
partially the reason why he lacks motivation. If Mr Bookmaker kicks
him out, you bet there's an other team right there to sign him. I would
say somthing in the line of Jef Braekeveldt's Jartazi team.

I think not only most of the people lost their faith in VDB, VDB gets
more and more forgotten because of new talent that is doing well. Most
reactions about VDB are rather cynical. You just know it isn't about
cycling or winning anymore when the name VDB is mentioned.
    "VDB apeared in court today"
"VDB took his shotgun and shot a hole in the ceiling"
    "Feretti end VDB's contract"
"VDB on the edge of a divorce"
    "VDB's shrink sais..."
"VDB is injured and will not particpate at..."
    "VDB has foodpoisoning"
    ....
    "VDB commits suicide"

    It's over, you know.

    Hey 911 Hijacker,

In case you haven't figured it out yet, Franky V. got all his results pre-2000
while doped to the gills. Now that the UCI and WADA have cracked down on the
testing regimens, Franky V knows he can't risk taking the huge doses of EPO
and steroids he was taking in the past. One more arrest and the guy will check
himself into the Pantani Hotel for good.

So that's why Vandoofus drifts in and out of depression from week to
week....because he knows the jig is up. This is the second time in one day
I've gone to bat for Lafferty Church.

    Take care,

Discovery. Maybe Lance can move a double bed into his altitude tent.

  15. I think he should move to CSC near Rjis and Luigi Cechini.. If so many dead
horses seem to resurrect in that team and even some not so talented cyclists
(including Rjis and Tyler) have shined under their trainning regime, imagine
what could such move mean to VDB that is probaly the cyclist with the
greatest potential of the last 20 years (for ,as opposed to Boonen, he could
have even won some of the GTs and one weekers).

BTW: Do antidepressants register as doping "positives"?

I respectfully disagree with you. VDB was/is a DIAMOND. He is sooo
freaking gifted, it is sick. Those results MAY have been aided by
medicine, but back in that era, EVERYONE doped, and VDB was still
better than them. So are you saying he took more [censored] than them? It is
a terrible waste of talent. It also is pretty plain to see that
depression (a disease) is his major problem.

Maybe the Belgian mafia here can comment on his personality. I will
close with this. People who say Boonen could burn out like VDB are
naive. Boonen was born to be where he is today. He'll be around a long
time, and win 20+ races a year EVERY YEAR.

    casual PRO

  17. Not really, he will be racing in New Jersey for the Navigators soon. Watch
for it, I know. Cipollini sez so. That will be his last chance. VDB in
Jersey Pinch your nose and say "VDB in Jersey", "VDB in Jersey", "VDB in
Jersey". That is Ray Cipollini, formerly of Paris Sport fane as a USCF
Junior in 1978 in Jersey riding a Cuevos bike.

    Crit Pro is right on.
VDB is my favorite cyclist of all time, period. Remember when he
dropped an on-form Bartoli at LBL, that was insane.
4 stages in the same Vuelta, some serious mountain stages.
Ghent Wevelgem, he took that race away from the sprinters for once.
Man you people have short memories and you can't even recognize style
and class when you see it.
Two years ago he got 2nd at Flanders after being fiered by Lampre who
lost faith a little too early.
He'll be back too. He's got at least one big win left in him.
Even if he doesn't, even if he quit today he has won some big races and
he deserves some respect for that - Lance has never won a classic, and
either has Hincapie, so get off the jock and recognize that VDB will
always get contracts because team managers know he might win aa big
classic, which is more than you can say for many other well paid
    riders.

  19. Quoted message said:

Fleche Wallone is a classic and Armstrong won that.

But yeah, VDB is or was one of my favorite guys to watch. Huge talent
and that fluid rocking style. But he'd done. He's cracked mentally
and w/o mental discipline he's not coming back.

    Dumbass -

I'm giving no respect to people who squander their talent.

What's worthy of respect is someone who makes the most of whatever they
were born with, even if they were born with very little. Your mileage
    may vary.

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.
