How long will Vitamin C tablets packed in blister-packs stay potent?
The expiration date is usually two years after the manufacturing date
but
I've heard that's largely a marketing gimmick.
Anyone have any estimates?

Heck, I didn't even know you could buy vitamin C packed in
blister-packs.
Why the heck would anyone with a lick of sense want to buy something as
dirt cheap as vitamin C in blister-packs just so they can make it
expensive to buy?
Do not bother replying.

Another absolutely useless answer. Why do you even waste you time?

Not nearly as useless as yours.
Just thought that you ought to know by now, that I never answer
questions. I simply make comments. Here, try shoving my comments up
yours.
I think people who spend a lot of money on Vitamin C are stupid. I
think that the somebody who asked this question was both a snob and
stupid to boot.
As for your opinion, you are an [censored]! Need I say more?
Kindly STOP trying to turn smn into a Fat Farm.
Now, do you mind?

Searching the web, I found nothing to indicate that ascorbic acid would
decompose in a dark, dry, cool environment. Ascorbic acid will
decompose under great heat to irritating subtances and when dissolved
in water exposed to air will deteriorate rapidly.
Medications are required to state a shelf life which may be much
shorter than their actual shelf life.

I am interested in a variation on the question -
Does anyone have accurate information on the decomposition temperature of
Vit. C?
Most sources say that cooking foods diminishes the Vit. C content, but
fail to state if the loss is due to cooking temperatures - often no more
than 100 C - or because of leaching from foods cooked in hot or boiling
water.
This than leads to another question - re: "....when dissolved in water
exposed to air will deteriorate rapidly."
Are there "irritating substances" formed every time fruit or veggies are
cooked in water?
An inquiring mind would like to know (FACTS please, opinions based on
anything other than scientific research are of no interest to me).
