Freddy's "internet presence" is quite a bit different than he is in person.
He is extremely friendly and charismatic. His opinions, often expressed
rather strongly, are derived from 30+ years of competetive cycling of all
forms. You may not agree, but you have to respect them. He has enough
stories to fill a book "hint hint", as a matter of fact, I think a
documentary of him and Gardner could be quite popular.
I feel quite lucky to count him as a close friend.
I gotta go, making a chainring adapter for him, so he can put a bigger gear
on the Varna he'll be racing at BM in just over 2 weeks! Maybe it'll be good
for 80mph?

Quoted message said:I just had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Fast Freddy
Markham at the B.R.O.L. rally in Bath, NY this last weekend. I had
previously been rather peeved with this man due to his notorious
a.r.b.r posts criticising uss 'bents.
I have totally changed my opinion of Mr. Markham. As of this point in
time I'm a Fast Freddy Markham fan! He is a cool dude and a good man
(I M H O).
Viva Freddy !
