    I'm looking for a bracket to attach to my garage wall, to hang my spare (winter) bike on. The bike
    will be hanging over my beloved Mini, so the bracket has to be strong, particularly since the spare
    bike is an old, heavy Raleigh mtb (joke) with steel frame and steel wheels.

    Has anyone got any suggestions where I might get a suitable bracket?

    I've always made mine. Some half inch thick wood cut into two triangles 10 inches on a side. Cut out
    a 2x1 inch section out of the one side for the bike top tube to sit in. Bolt each triangle on side
    to a 10 inch piece of 2x2. Attach the 2x2 to the wall using coach bolts, putting the two brackets
    about 20 inches apart (or as far apart as the top tube will allow.

    Makes for a good 'workstand' as well.

    I use ordinary shelf supports from Buy & Queue. The mock wrought iron ones are good as the top tube
    sits in a curly wurly decorative bit.

    The photo does not show this as well as it could be shown, but it is identical in operation to the
    bracket in your link.

    The CTC one is for horizontal storage. I need vertical to fit 3 bikes in less floor area, so I'll go

    no it's not. the Pro-bike hook is for vertical mounting of the bike, by front or back wheel. I have
    similar fixings, bought years ago. I can mount eight bikes vertically and then get a few tandems
    underneath against the wall.
