I just downloaded "Watts per Kilogram" by Richard Wharton, available at onlinebikecoach.com in pdf format. This book is gold and it's only $20. ! If you have a computrainer or powertap and don't really know how to do power based training or are confused by the power discussions on this forum, you need this book.
He explains how to use cyclingpeaks software (http://www.cyclingpeakssoftware.com/members/signup.php?mode=trial) and trainingpeaks software(http://intellicoach.trainingpeaks.com/DownloadQs.aspx) in conjunction with computrainer or powertap. It is the best $20 I've spent on cycling.

where'd you download it from?

I see the book, but no link to download a pdf. I've searched everywhere! All I see is a link to contact the author.

I would guess that the download instructions come after paying $25 ;)

Is this the same book you're referring to? It's free here...

Well duh, the USAC Elite Cycling Coach and famous author of "Watts per Kilogram," silly. ;)

Actually, I think he's one of the main guys at iBike.

Doh! Surely not, right? I mean $20 for a 30 page pdf seems a little steep. OTOH, the OP did say it was "gold." ;)
20 bucks saved is 20 bucks earned thanks,

Hey guys, I'm the author of the book, so if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them here or via e-mail. I can be reached at: [email protected].

The website for the book is: http://www.onlinebikecoach.com/publications.asp

There is a BOOK of "Watts per Kilogram", which is about how to use the CompuTrainer more effectively. There's also a "Watts per Kilogram" booklet, which is about the iBike.

Hang in there on the iBike - I should know something mid-month or so.

The developers of Cycling Peaks software have a book coming out in early Feb, and it's ~$13 from Amazon for a real-live paper version.

Hunter wrote that book with Andy, and their market is a lot larger than mine... "Watts per Kilogram" is about Training with a Computrainer (2000+- units/yr). Theirs includes ALL power meters (~5,000 units+ per year)... Hence, I charge more.

The booklet on iBike's website is free, but it's pretty general...

Richard, did I ever thank you for the copy of the book you sent me? If not, mea culpa, and a public "thanks!".

Second, do you have a copy of our book yet? I imagine that you may have, but if not shoot me an email and I'll send you a copy.

I think one is on the way, signed by both of you. So THANK YOU, for all you continue to do to further the science of the sport along.
