Wearing Walking Jacket to Pub

With the down jacket, absolutely, since it's a PITA to wash and any dirt
(and to some extent any washing) degrades the performance a bit. Beyond
that I tend not to wear Serious Stuff to the pub as I've got less
technical stuff that's actually better outside of a storm. For general
getting about locally I tend to use a light polycotton jacket I got off
eBay for not much.

I have several fleeces that I virtually live in. I imagine they could all be
classed as walking gear..........

In that case i could have a pub fleece, a work fleece, a driving fleece.
Hmmm. I wouldn't wear my cag to go to the pub though as I would be the only
one and would look a prat. However it would be ok if it were a serious [1]
pub. (At last! I can get this link in!). I believe that would be in
Ambleside then.......

Yes, I have my smoke free pub crawl already planned in Edinburgh.

I do alternate my drinking & walking clothes in that I wear my soft
shell rather a lot (a nice one from the berghaus extreme range). But my
jacket, trousers and boots are for the hills only.
