Alright, Bob, we definitely have to do a back-to-back whenever we meet.
I'm still predicting I'll be the winner, but it will be small
consolation as you'll out-total me by hundreds of pounds if you keep up
    anything like your past performances.

As ancient as I am I'm sure I must be shrinking by now anyway.
Last time I actually measured I think I was 5' 7 3/8ths so you have me
by half an inch. I'm sure I used to be just shy of 5' 8" but gravity
    always gets you.

    Before you critisize someone,
you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you critisize them,
you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

We are about the same age I believe, no? I recently turned 50 and your
mfw bio page (Google "bob mann mfw"😉 plus a little math says you turned
51 about three months ago. It's all that hanging from the chinup bar
(discussed in another recent thread here entitled, "Can we change our
frame"😉 that's helping keep the age-related decrease in height at bay so
far for me - that plus I do lots of flexibility work with a focus on
elongating the spine - bad back, I have no choice.

I hang for a few seconds from the chin up bar every morning after a
    hot shower.
Mainly to stretch out my shoulder.
My back is a bit sore these days and of course there are the recently
rejigged shoulder and knee but overall I'm withstanding the rigors of
    time fairly well.
My plans are to increase general fitness, flexibility and maintain
strength. Hopefully I can figure out how to do that.
I just this weekend bought my first pair of 32" waist jeans in several
years which is much better than the 34" I had been wearing. I went
right past the 33" without stopping.
I haven't read that thread but I don't believe that the frame can be
changed, just what is hanging off it unless you count spinal changes.
Yes, I am now 51, eligible for retirement and considering what to do
for the next stage in my life.
I feel like returning to school but want to find out if there is much,
if any, hope of employment afterwards at this age.

The loss of height is usually attributed to compression of the discs in
the spine - hanging (along with the obvious, like staying hydrated) can
help them not be so squished - that's what's done it for me and, as I
mentioned in the other thread, Pavel reported a guy in Russia who used
to have his wife hold onto his waist while he hung from the bar gained a
full inch in measured height - could be tough on the elbows, I imagine.
I do remember when I worked weighted chinups that it made my lower back
very happy but it did take its toll on my right elbow, too.
