  1. My mother had an accident and is in the hospital.
She has been there several weeks and she is on heavy sedation.
She will be hospitalized for quite awhile, so I went and cleaned out
her refrigerator. I am a bachelor and not much of a cook.
She has a Spring Hill (brand) Ham and Water Product (thats what it
    says on the package).

It's wrapped in plastic. It's been sitting in that fridge for several
weeks. It's still sealed so it looks to be ok.

However, there are no instructions on the label. (Why dont they put
    instructions on packages?).

What do I do with it? Is it just a slice and eat, or does it need to
be baked, or what? I dont have the faintest idea what to do.
I thought of just freezing it for mom, but my tiny freezer is too
filled now. I may as well just eat it, but what do I do with it?

    Thanks

    George

Heat it up to about 100F, put on a condom, and enjoy. Give that "Ham
and Water Product" a good porkin'.

    Sorry to hear about that.

    I can't imagine. Put it in the oven at 250 for 12 - 15 minutes a pound.
I took that from the Cook's Ham website, couldn't find Spring Hill.
You just want to warm it up.

Of course, then you have to eat it. Heh.

Makes me feel astute to be socializing with you, maybe you could
    improve my overall IQ

Every one of that type of ham I ever bought had directions printed on
the plastic packaging... always has a company name with address and
almost always a web site. Those water added hams don't have a very
long shelf life... there should be a "Sell By" date on the package...
if it's like more than a couple weeks past I'd chuck it. If it's
still within or near the date there should be no problem but it needs
to be cooked; tent with foil and cook in a 300F oven for about two
hours... check with an insta read thermometer, center needs to be
above 160F... use a thermometer, do not guess.

  7. I had one of those hams given to me once - it appeared to have no
directions either - but once I opened the plastic and removed the ham I
saw the directions were on the underside of the label. Seemed to take a
bit longer to cook then the directions according to my meat thermometer
but came out well. Was difficult to carve though - had a large bone in
it and I am not a good carver! Tasted good though!

If it's been there for several weeks I'd chuck it. Two weeks, okay,
but after that I 'd get worried. Is there a best before date? If
you're not long past that then it's probably okay.

I'd think one so lovely and evil would have no difficulty accomodating
    a large bone.

If it's in the US, it would likely have a "sell before" date on it.
Sometimes they put the instructions on the underside of the packaging or
    on a tag.

Ideas for use: put chunks of it in bean or lentil soup, have it with
eggs in the AM, ham & swiss on rye, or...

Toast & butter English muffin halves, top with thin slices of ham, then
some not quite done broccoli, then some grated cheese. Run it under the
broiler and then drizzle some hollendaise & enjoy. For a snack, cut a
very thin ham slice, spread it with your favorite soft cheese, place a
scallion or two in it and roll it up.
