  1. Do you worry about losing form on a two week holiday ?

Do you kick back and enjoy yourself ? Or do you plan some kind of activity ?

What do you do if you're going somewhere with no bikes, and no gyms (but lots of hills, stairs, etc) ?

    😕

  2. I wouldn't worry about losing form over a 2 week break. Hit it hard before the break and consider it recovery time.

No bikes?!? What kind of hell-hole are you going to on holiday? I like to have some kind of phyiscal activities on my vacations, mainly because that's what I consider fun.

  3. Skiing. Not cross country. Not much aerobic.

I appreciate your advice. I've worked so hard for the form I've got now. My last break (10 weeks for an injury) did set me back a bit.

    Thanks,

  4. 10 weeks off plus an injury is a little different story. 🙂

You may be surprised how strong and fresh you feel after a nice break. After getting beat up on the slopes for 2 weeks, you legs may be screaming to get back on the bike for a change. 😄

  5. My coach suggested taking a spanner, my shoes, and my pedals (just in case I find a spin class or something).

    My coach understands me !

But, you know, I do seem to recall something about the quads hurting after trying to keep up with the grommets ...

I might just call it cross training and leave everything to do with the bike at home (Can I not read bicycle magazines for 10 nights ? How bad really is it when you go cold turkey ?)

    Regards, MJH

  6. Mike,

I just had a couple of weeks off due to my bike being in the shop waiting on parts. 😠 I had 1 day on the trainer and 1 day on my mtb. I can't tell that I've lost a significant amount of fitness over that time. In fact I thought I rode the intervals on the trainer (after about 10 days off) much better than expected.
