  1. I was once 18, but can't relate.

One of the posters on another forum that I frequent (totally not health oriented, but such things
get brought up) has an 18 year old daughter, who apparently has joint pain, so much so that she cut
    down on her soccer activity.

At any rate, her M.D. ran arthritis test & said she didn't have that & suggested ibufrofin when
    necessary.

So she took the girl to a "naturlistic doctor", who looked at the girl's tongue & nails & said she
does not "eliminate correctly" & is "toxic". Also, she's "estrogen dominant", as apparently are 95%
of the American Caucasian women & lots of the African-American women, though this is unhead of
supposedly in other cultures per the alt. med practioner.

So what does this mean? They're apparently completely changing her diet to eliminate wheat & dairy,
etc. etc. but I wonder about the diagnosis? Can anyone suggest what else might bew causing her joint
pain (I think she has a few other health problems, but that's the main one).

"Naturalist" can mean many different things, so I'm not sure about this part.

Changing her diet may not be such a bad idea. A lot of seemingly unrelated problems can be caused by
something in the diet. The only way to see if that will help is to do it and see what happens. In
the meantime, ibuprofen is probably the best way to go for symptomatic relief until the effect of
changing her diet can be assessed.

Perhaps she was doing too much, too soon, without adequate preparation. My neighbor is a young woman
who plays top level collegiate basketball, and is highly conditioned. Her school provides a full
    time trainer, etc.

    Sounds right.

Well, toxins, etc, are the "in thing" so to speak in AltMed these days. Howevcer, I wonder how he
can her bowels are clogged by looking at her tongue? Must be one heck of a tongue depressor....

Well, they have to say something....

The disgnosis is quite simple. Mom has insurance or money, and the "doctor" is lightening her load.

See above., She is probably overdoing it.

So I guess any MD who would grab his tounge depressor and look at the back of your tounge is a
    charlatan?

Yes, if he's doing so to assess your bowel function.

Metal toxicity can be a factor at any age...

I can share my own experience of arthritic inflammations that would render my legs, arms, and/or
neck painfully unusable for days on end. Following the lead of a biochemist friend and associate who
was dealing with problems attributed to nickel poisoning, I started a regimen of nutritional
supplementation and detoxification that I continue to this day, a joint-pain-free period of
approximately 6 years now. The method is presented in the following article:

A methane guage will accurately determine Charles' bowel function.

You'd need a pallet of cork to fill the gap between your ears.
