What makes durable road tyre sidewall??

I think the best you can do is to google in this group for "sidewall"
and see what other people have found. You may come to the conclusion
incidentally that you've been lucky with Continentals compared with
many other people. I myself have had sidewall problems, and other
durability problems too, with Continental UltraGatorSkins, but not with
their GP 3000.

No, but a lot of us gave up Continentals after many sidewall failures.
As they say, YMMV.
