  1. After some of the postings on reflexology, I wondered what the background of
the group was (generally) and where they were heading (interest-wise). So,
if you'd be so kind <g>, please respond to:

    1) what modalities you currently practice
    2) what modalities are you learning or would like to learn
    3) what other skills/services/products you bring to your practice

    TIA

Basic relaxation massage (Swedish or whatever you want to call it), Jin Shin acupressure and reiki.
I can do reflexology, but no way can I make it last an hour, and I sometimes do a little shiatsu
    with my massages too.

Maybe some deep tissue type techniques.

I study Chinese Medicine and want to incorporate that into my practice along with the acupressure
    and chinese herbs.

I'm waiting for my temporary license to come from the state, I've only trained in swedish massage so
far but I can do some deep work comfortably. I plan to expand my knowledge but don't know what to
    start on first 🙂

    1) Swedish (of course), Neuromuscular Therapy (certified), Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Sports,
Ortho-Bionomy, Natural Reflex Therapy, Stone Therapy, Reflexology (basic), and Reiki (Master).

    2. Still learning Ortho-Bionomy though I use it with very good results, would like to learn more
    lymphatic drainage, and Shiatsu.

    3. All sorts of stuff.

I currently practice different degrees of massage therapy and Asian Body therapy, mainly Shiatsu. I
intend to study acupuncture. I just finished 18 month course so don't want to study anything at this
time. Still intergrating Shiatsu. I don't sell off products and other services would be a few spa
like treatments, which I will be phasing out soon. I have completed massage training, becoming
national certifed. I then became a Diplomate of Asian Bodytherapy through the NCCAOM.

  6. Ben,

I've never heard of Ortho-Bionomy before...what is it?

  7. 1) I specialize in Pre-natal, Post-partum, and Pre-conception massage. My initial training
consisted of Swedish, DT, and Myofascial Release, all of which I incorporate into almost every
    session in some way.

    2) My next endeavor is Manual Lymph Drainage, and I'd like to learn more about Hot Stone Therapy and
    Healing Touch.

    3) I also have received training to teach "Birthing From Within" childbirth preparation classes, and
have done some doula work (I would love to do more!)

I am a student in the UK, currently learning Swedish (the exam is tonoght!) and starting with my
first assessment clients at college. Plus, I did a workshop on Indian head massage, which I will be
incorporating into my practice once I'm out of college.

In Feb, I will be starting with Sports and Workplace massage at the college. After that, a few
months in Thailand would be nice, to study the oriental styles (well, I can dream ;-)

    3) what other skills/services/products you bring to your practice

I have done quite a bit of tai chi, and try to be sensitive to my own energy, and that of my client,
    in my massage practice.

  9. After some of the postings on reflexology, I wondered what the
    background of
the group was (generally) and where they were heading (interest-wise).
    So,
if you'd be so kind <g>, please respond to:

    1) what modalities you currently practice

I practice Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Hotstone Massage, Pregnancy
    Massage(prenatal), geriatrics.

    2) what modalities are you learning or would like to learn

I have so much left to learn, I think our profession has so much room to grow in any direction
you want to go. I would like to get a Massage Chair and take a course so I can do more outreach
programs. I would love to take an advance pregnancy course so I could be able to accompany
pregant woman to the hospital during labour. I am thinking on craniosacral, reflexology. Oh so
    many things!!

    3) what other skills/services/products you bring to your practice.

Just my wonderful self : ). Actually I would like to add some
products at some point. I am just starting at a clinic from being
away for a year, so my sole interest is building back my clientele!

    Thank-you.....Jillian

    TIA

    George
