  1. I've got a old circular sat dish from my neighbour and an old analogue STB from someone else. Oh,
    and a bit of cable.

What do I need to do to see le Tour de France free?

I'm not going to pay for any channels or etc.

    TIA

    Pete

Point it at the ASTRA sat at 19.2 E , then go here.

    lyngsat.comastra19.shtml

You can pick up all the channels with a white background which denotes "analog - clear" channels.
It appears Eurosport is on 11.259 GHz in the clear, but there are Belgian and German stations that
may be showing it. If you go here:

    tvupdate.nltvupdate.nl

Then select "sport" on the second drop down menu, click on the search icon at the rhs. This will
show all the sport for that day for a number of channels.

Put the disk on top of the STB. Tie them together with the cable. Stand on the dish and look through
your neighbours window at his telly!

What's a STB? [a few mins later]....Oh set top box. Good!

Fix dish to something south facing, plug it into receiver. Select the Eurosport channel and whirl
dish about slowly until you pick up sumo wrestling.

does eurosport still broadcast on analog?

Yes. Still popular in Germany, it seems. How long the English commentary will continue is another
    matter :-(

Or download this free program from here and it will show you exactly where to point your dish.

Aye. Watching the prologue right now and deciphering Messers Duffield and Kellys' commentary ;-)

We'll be losing analogue transmissions soon, within 10 years, so bite the bullet now, buy a Digibox
to use with your existing aerial and watch the race on ITV2 with your two favourite commentators.

Mike (Analogue and international Eurosport for me, cant miss our Duffy)

I flatly refuse to give houseroom to anything with such a fatuous name.

    I do, however, have a DAB radio - and I can listen ot I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue on BBC7, so
    there, ner!

So when they stop the English language feed there will be no loss of comprehension -- and possibly
    an improvement 🙂

I'm not going to pay for any channels or etc.

With the Sunday Papers came the TV schedules for the week. Despite all the furious ITV messages
about giving the race full coverage for the first time ever. There is no live cover. We just get the
    same old highlights between adverts.

For continuity and for that exitement as the race develops get your analogue sat sorted out quickly
and watch Eurosport. Eurosport 13.30 to 17.45 CET (ZDF/ARD 13.15 to 17.00 CET in German language
seem to have the same transmission) Mike

OOps. I should have saved that post until I'd seen the ITV2 schedules. Mike
