    I've been working like mad for the last couple of months, and somehow I've
    overlooked the summer. Now, I'd like to make it up a bit; feel like I should
    go cycling for about a week. Some Mediterranean location would suit me fine.
    Any suggestions where should I go? Some nice place with plenty of quiet
    winding roads and stunning views, within a range of Ryanair (or alike)
    flight from here, not costing arm and leg? Good accommodation, but not
    necessarily in five stars hotel?
    All suggestions welcome!

    Why not the Riccione Bike Hotels?
    They had a stand at the Cycle Show. Easyjet flights to Rimini.

    Majorca. There's a huge amount more to the island than the beer/beach
    cliche.

    Try www.gastrobiking.com . It sounds fun and really laid back plus autumn
    discounts at the moment.

    This place is good... http://www.bikepyrenees.com/

    It's a guest house specifically for bikes. Cheap and cheerful accommodation
    but the food (everything bought that day from local farms) and rides (if you
    like hills) are excellent. The year I went, they picked me up from
    Toulouse. Weather might not be as good as the Med, but hell, you can't have
    everything.
