To be precise, the one I shall be racing tomorrow is this one:

(although in preparation for tomorrow it is now wearing mud tyres and a
much lighter saddle, and has lost its rear bottle cage).

It cost me about £450 all in, using some new parts and some old road bike
parts I had lying around.

Also have a look at Paul Milnes in Bradford, who are long term cross
supporters with good prices.

Their 'Team Cross' frame is a rebadged Empella frame.
The website is [censored], but give them a ring, and theycan build a bike up
to how you want.
I've had 3 bikes off them now and all were good.

If you're happy with your shortlist (perhaps you just like the look of
those particular bikes and don't want to complicate things further)
then I would suggest a test-ride of each will quickly sort out which
one is best for you. I can't see any reputable dealer refusing as
it's a fair budget you have there. A simple comparison of your present
bike's specs and geometry might give you an insight as to whether any
bike can be deleted from the list.
