Agreed. They're all responsible. Stevebaby especially.

HAA! I laugh at your poll and I urinate all over your false accusations!
Just because WADA find a few bags...OK, a few hundred bags of blood in my garage...all of a sudden, I'm the guilty one? Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence ferchrissake? Has noone considered that there could be a plausible explanation for those bags of blood?

I might just be a vampire.
    But I'm not.
The truth is...I bought'em on Ebay.It isn't often that I get dudded on a deal, but in this case,sadly...I got screwed. Some guy known only to me as "Eufemiano" sold them to me as cheap Spanish wine, at a price too good to be true. Hey...I'm a bloody cyclist, not a friggin' connoisseur of Spanish wine! When I saw the stickers on each bag labelled "Ivan 2005", I just assumed that it was the brand name and the vintage year! How was I to know?
The more sceptical among my accusers may say that my suspicions should have been aroused when my back tyre started to smoke and the back wheel dug itself into the roadway to the hub,or that I should have realised that something was amiss when I started to pass Porsches on the freeway.
I naturally and reasonably assumed that my increased cadence was the cause.

My Brazilian lawyers will vigorously defend my reputation as soon as I take up residence.
All donations to the "Free Stevebaby Defence Fund" will be used to prove that, when it comes to cheap Spanish wine, I am only capable of recognising quantity...not quality. Any suggestion that I have engaged in "blood doping" is ridiculous...how the hell can you smoke blood?

  2. I'll say it again: I know a rider who raced from Rabobank's development squad as a junior and U23. Great guy. Good results too. His story is an eye opener in terms of the cynical state of cycling in Europe in the late 1990's and current era.

The "team" proposed a doping plan, under the guise of "we can help you get better", wink, wink. Of course, he thought nutrition, training, since he's against dope 100% on ethical and especially health reasons. They told him that he had talent, work ethic, good results, but that wasn't enough. He refused (as did a portion of his teammates) but the quite a few took the offer from his observations.

Now, to say that the team knows nothing is ludicrous. They know since they (or their strategically placed assistants) suggest, promote, and admnister the doping plans.

The real [censored] are those who victimize juniors and U23s and tell them, effectively, that without dope there is no hope, destroying their health in the process.

When there's a positive, they're all shocked and dismayed (a la Riis) and their betrayal by the riders. Its sickening. 😠

  3. The votes are in and it looks like I'm responsible. What can I say except...mea culpa.
Morally, the only option for me now is to accept the blame like a man and offer myself as a scapegoat for all the ills that have bedevilled cycle racing. I'll take it upon myself to make all the bad stuff go away.

So send me all your drugs (performance enhancing or otherwise) and I guarantee I'll disappear into the wilderness, never to be seen again.
