I was kinda joking with the dentist the other day when I asked
him, "Who's the brainchild that decided to put these enormous
bundles of nerves inside teeth?". He just snorted and started in
again with the drill (almost as if I was being punished).
So I was talking with another regular here and she said she heard
that they were to keep us from biting our tongues. Hmm, I don't
know. It almost seems plausible, but I think there's something
much more sinister at work here.
I've developed my own three theories (and I'm working on more -
sleep deprivation is the key to Paranoid Theory):
1. It's a scheme by the Yellow Pages to beef up advertising rates
for dentists who advertise Saturday and holiday appointments.
2. CornNuts are being produced by the super-secretive marketing
geniuses at the ADA.
3. God is really a dentist.
