  1. ...after having lost 3.2 this week, stuck to my points
religiously, exercised almost every day, ran a 5k
today...did I just sit down and scarf half a carton of Mint
Oreo M&M ice cream? I know it was partially because I was
really hungry (should have eaten more earlier) and partially
because I wanted a treat, but I feel like I have ruined
everything...What makes me do this???? and more improtantly,
what can I do about it???

    Meg

  2. You can be pleased with yourself that you didn't scarf down
    the ENTIRE carton?

Really, other than that, there's not much too do. You can't
"take it back". You can't beat yourself up over it, that's
counter productive and makes you feel worse. All you can do
is (here comes the textbook words) examine the behaviour and
analyze it looking for motivations. Once you identify the
motivations and underlying causes then you can have a
stronger basis for changing the behaviours.

Or in other words, look upon it as learning experience and
an opportunity to fine tune things a little more!

  3. [censored] happens <g>. Pick yourself up and start over again. Eat
light tomorrow and you may not even see a dent on the scale.
That's the beauty of the program.

  4. Have you considered the exercise points and counted the
point for the ice cream? How far off your points did you go
today and how many of your flex points did you use this
week? If you find your calculations in the ok range for you
for the week, I wouldn't really worry about it.

I would, however, have some water. I'd be thirsty
    after that.

Meg, you're human. You didn't do anything bad other
than make a bad food choice. You're learning. Be gentle
    with yourself.

  5. Well, realize that you haven't ruined everything. Just start
again with your next meal, and you will probably either
maintain or lose some more this week.

  8. It happens to all of us. I did it with Almond Joy yesterday.
The best advice I can give is forget it and get back on the
plan. And keep something moreish and low calorie for those
times. I've said it before and I'm repeating it. Klondike
Slim a bears. Only 3 points each and satisfy my craving for
    sweet and chocolate.

What to do for the future:

Don't buy ice-cream then it isn't there to temp you. Keep
some zero point soup in the fridge to heat up for the
    munchies... Peel a carrot...

For now: forget it and start again tomorrow! I bet you
didn't eat a whole 3 lbs of ice-cream, and each day is a
    new start...
