You could and the position would be the same.
I think a lot of riser bars have been sold as add-ons, to change the geometry of an existing bike.
That's actually why I got my Monkey Lites. The fact that risers were more stylish was just a
byproduct. Why not sell Monkey Light stems? Probably because people are buying risers (marketing).
Risers keeping the stem height lower may be of some benefit for DH (less likely to hit it maybe?)
but I'm not really sure.
I find my risers to be very comfortable and they give me more confidence on downhills because of the
position I'm in. Plus they look rad! ;-)
