  1. hi there,

    well, where to start.

    1) I had to WI early this week - 2 hours earlier this
morning than usual - and was UP 2 lbs. When I WI later,
post-gym, at c. the usual time, I was the same as last
week. Which weight to take? Last week I only maintained -
so is the guinea pig experiment working?

    2) Tescos are royally p*ssing me off. They're changing
their Healthy Eating range - they now show WW points.
Great, but in the meantime they've changed the products.
Their Muller Lite style yoghurts - Vanilla and the
Toffee ones - which used to be 1 point - now 1.5. Worst
of all - the HE Chicken Fajitas which were 4.5 points -
now 7.5!!! I've just checked - and am gobsmacked -
especially as the normal range ones we had last week
when they couldn't deliver the HE ones were only 6
    points a serving! Not Happy!

So, am I up this week? And if so, what on earth have I
done to cause a 2lb gain? I'm praying my TOM is finally on
they way - so as to provide me with a legitimate excuse.
Do I drop my points and presume the experiment failed? Or
am I the same? Or do I kinda ignore it and hope that by
next week, when life is back to normal, everything evens
    itself out?

OOOOH, I'm not a happy bunny today!

  3. Krys, could you possibly be retaining water after the
holidays? I have no idea what to tell you on the difference
between pre-workout and post workout weights. I checked my
weight this morning before and after, like you showed a loss
afterwards. And the way I've been running to the potty
today, I'd be willing to bet it is down even further. <sigh>
Also it's only been 2 weeks since starting your experiment
... give it another week before you consider it a total
bust. 2 pounds is pretty dang hard - if not impossible - to
put on in a week, especially when you've only increased your
points by a very few (maybe 2 or 3?).

I know those words of wisdom aren't very comforting though.
Those darned unexplainable increases in weight drive me
    bonkers too.

  4. I'd hang in there and try for another week. 2 pounds, as
Joyce said, are hard to gain in a week.

I'd stick with the normal time WI because that is what is
normal for you. The routine you developed is yours alone so
    keep with your routine.

    I hope that's helpful.

  6. Hi Joyce,

Yep - I suppose I could be. I have discovered that my so-
called wonderfully accurate electronic kitchen scales have
ceased working properly, so I'm guessing my portion control
has been off this week too.

When I upped my points (5 weeks ago now) - I went up by 7 a
week, which ain't a lot, but who knows....... I've given
into temptation and dropped it back down again for this
week. I still have a whole heap of APs to use though, so
I'll not be starving 🙂 There's always the possibility that
I'm still not eating enough I suppose, but I really can't
bring myself to eat any more.

  7. My routine has been out because it's the Easter holidays
over here, which means my kids are at home for 2 weeks or
so. Therefore I've had to get to the gym or swimming very
early in the morning - squeeze it in then before hubby goes
to work - rather than later in the day. That and the Easter
weekend (though I was within points) have upset things -
leastways I hope that's what it is!

AH well - let's hope next WI is better

  9. Don't know what to suggest but since it sounds like this was
not exactly a normal week (which ones really are??), you
might not want to base decisions on what happened this week.
Easter and changing wi times or activities.....

Good luck getting it all settled.

  10. Very true. No week is "normal". Every week there's
something. Some event, some outing, some change to routine -
whatever. If we wanted it, there's always an excuse to be
found. For example, today was lunch out with hubby to
celebrate the ending of one job and his soon to be starting
of a new one. This week was however, less "normal" than some
I suppose, but not by much. I think the only way to do it
would be to never eat out at all - that's the only way to
guarantee total point accuracy - and even then, it's hard to
be accurate in what you earn as APs - it's all too
approximate. Ah well, it would be no fun if it were easy - I
always did prefer things to be a challenge! 😉

  11. Well dang Krys, I have no words of wisdom for you. As I said
in an earlier post, your scenario seems to be contagious.
<g> I'm now going through the same thing, or think I am
anyway. Exercising my butt off, eating what I think is a
good amount but not overboard by any stretch of the
imagination - no differently than I have been for the past

  12. hey all,

yep - me again - a day late, but there you go. Last week,
after my odd 2lb gain, I couldn't help it - I dropped my
weekly points back down by 7 and ate a few less APs - so
overall I probably ate 11 points less than the week before.
This week, the 2lbs was gone again. I've not really shifted
in the last couple of months - I seem to vary between 129
and and 131 and that's about it - no downwards progress. And
I really would like to lose just a couple more pounds.
However, I have no idea how to go about doing this - I
couldn't excercise more if I tried - I probably already do
too much - and I earn at least 50 APs a week, frequently
more. I don't think I could bring myself to eat enough more
to make a noticeable difference, in case that meant me
    gaining first.....

However, this ain't all bad. The figure has changed shape.
The blood pressure is even lower than ever - 90/70 (which is
causing me the odd problem, but never mind). My resting
heart rate seems to be about 59 - it's noticeably slowed
down over the last couple of weeks. And all those APs mean I
get to eat cheesecake on a regular basis - in fact at
weekends, I can pretty much eat what I like. Which is why I
can't really see my way to eating more......

Ah well, some people are never satisfied..... 🙂

  13. Krys:

A resting heart rate of 59. Wow that is great!! Congrats on
    losing that 2 lbs!!

Have you ever had your body fat measured? It might tell you
that you shouldn't lose any more! Some scales have body fat
measurements on them. Now they are not perfect but they
would tell you if you were 22% body fat. If you are then
losing more would not be good, you are already at a low body
    fat level.

  14. I was thinking the same as Connie with FAT measurements ....
Maybe you are THERE. It sounds like you do a lot of exercise
and you may have a lot of muscle mass at this point rather
than body fat that you can shed. How are your other measures
    - waist, etc. And even there, I know some bikies have thighs
most woman would NOT want but it ain't fat, it is muscle (G)

Being able to eat what you want on weekends is nice if the
exercise buys you that. The thing I have to remember is that
it is definitely a tradeoff and if the exercise drops, so do
the goodies (hard to enforce, though (sigh))

Again, you might still want to play some experiments - try
not eating those weekend goodies and see what that does
    (both physically and mentally)
