  1. I ordered a new saddle from Wiggle Sunday night and lo by 10am Tuesday
morning it's with me and on my bike. I wouldn't mind the saddle only cost
    me £3.99 with free p&p!

It's called the Viscount VTT saddle Cro-mo and is reduced from £30!

It is basic but comfortable, better than the one that was on my bike anyway.

If you're in the market for a new saddle, this has got to be worth a look
at. Even if you're not happy with it, it's only £4.

    Yours Koy

ps I'm not in the employ of Wiggle, I'm just one Impressed Customer.

pps Thanks for the warning about the Lidl stock that would end up on ebay, I
spotted some yesterday and knew to stay clear of 'em.

OTOH, Wiggle have removed all contact information from their web-site
except for "[email hidden]", and they have failed to answer my last
two emails to them (sent with a week inbetween, the most recent email
being sent three days ago). I shall try again for a third time today.

Strange ............ I have had a couple of orders, both 'free post'
both arrived very quiclky ....... both with e-mail confirmations, and
one was altered by me (via e-mail) and it was answered within hours.

Sure you e-mail is not still in the 'drafts' folder ??

I think it extremely foolish of a company to isolate itself in this way,
to rely purely on one indirect contact mechanism, for how can they know
    when that mechanism fails?

I had exactly the same thing. I think they must be getting annoyed
with spending too much time dealing with customers emails and are
basically ignoring them if it relates to returns. I must admit I've
had a few problems with Wiggle and don't consider them the best on
customer service although reasonable I suppose. I was so annoyed with
them I asked them to close my account. They didn't do this and after
my temper had reduced over a couple of weeks I started using them
again. Now I find a few weeks after that my account is now closed. I
guess they are slowly catching up with emails. They give all the
signals out that they are shortstaffed.

I doubt it, this is not the first time someone has complained about
emails to Wiggle not getting a response. And I've had similar
experiences with other (non-bike related companies).

After a few bad experiences trying to sort things out with email only
companies. I suspect that it's because the companies business grows
quicker than they can cope with, they don't have enough staff and some
emails just don't get dealt with. esp. those that won't make them any
    money, such as returns/problems etc.

AFAIAC not advertising a phone number is for their benefit not mine,
and while as a rule I much prefer email I now try to steer clear of
email only companies and only deal with those who have a phone number
    as well.

Not strictly true - as someone has already posted, their phone number
is easily found from alternative sources; yell.com and others. And the
postal address is also on the Wiggle website - it's just not very
prominent, hidden away somewhere on the 'About Wiggle' section.
Actually, I ordered some stuff from them yesterday and have already
had the 'order received' and 'order processed' e-mails, so I await the
    actual goods with bated breath....

Is that legal for a mail order company? I thought they had to provide
    appropriate contact details?

Yes, They do. The postal address (which is probably what is required in
law) is on the bottom of every page.

All that is missing is the phone number, but there is no legal
requirement for that to be there (or even for them to have a phone :-))

I have just ordered some more stuff and got an instant e-mail back
confirming my order, and another 3 hours later saying that my order is
    ready for despatch.

I have also just sent an e-mail asking then to look at this newsgroups

  10. I've had excellent speedy service from this vendor and can also highly recommend them. Having said that, they did ignore a couple of emails once, but I'm not sure it was entirely fair of me to expect an answer.

I've used Wiggle loads and I cannot fault them on the level of service I've
received so far. Stuff has *always* been dispatched promptly and accurately.

I've ordered some stuff from Wiggle this morning. Got the usual confirmation of
order immediately and I've now received email notifcation that the order has
been processed, will be picked up from Wiggle within one working day, and be
with me within a couple of days of that.

Seriously, point them to the thread on google. Lots of new Net users
have never used Usenet; it is largely a hangout of the pre-WWW
    generation of Internet users.

Try news:uk.rec.cycling . Chances are they're using OE, in which case
clicking on news:uk.rec.cycling will bring them straight here.

Above-mentioned Wiggle goods arrived yesterday morning (despite only
using the slower post-free option), so no complaints from this
    customer!
