Yup, tonight I'll have an hours off-road to see how dry the trails around
here are now. On Tues I rode the trails on t'other side of the county and
they were mostly fine.
But best of all tomorrow I'm going windsurfing! Don't knock the wind ;-)

Did my favourite 30 mile ride through the lanes today and that
easterly wind made it bloody hard going.

I TT'd in it on Saturday and Thursday.

Last night was a pure cross wind, of the type that blows no-one any
good. It was so windy I took the standard road bike rather than the
fixie and rode on the drops. I got vicious calf and thigh cramp half a
mile from the end, had to stop and limped home for 29.09. Horrible.

With hindsight the fixie would have been OK as I was making 21mph in
both directions.

Additional:

Whoever was responsible for said Wind wants badly to be killed. Every Audax
ride I've done this year has been windy, but Saturday's[1] was the worst coz
we had the wind behind us on the lumpy bits where it was least useful. Also
on the To Be Made Illegal list are those responsible for specifying road
surfaces in Shropshire and the mice infesting Pete's rear derailleur.

I did get the trike up to 86 km/h coming off Wenlock Edge on the way over to
the start, though.
