Wing handlebars

I've seen it done both ways, I have the Specialized wing bars and ran the tape all the way up. The FSA's look nice leaving the bars exposed on the top part, I guess it depends on how much you want the grip up there.

Maybe I'll leave them exposed on top then. Probably won't need that much grip on top.

I have a pair of Cinelli Integralters (bar/stem combo). The only thing I wrapped was the drops. Looks real GOOD! FSA's would damn near look sexy partially clothed! 😄

I've seen quite a few of the FSA K-Wings wrapped from the hoods down through the drops and I've got to say, I just don't get it. I think it looks terrible. Is is that important to show off the graphics and carbon? Nicely wrapped bars look far classier, in my opinion.

I guess it's just up to the person. I think the FSA's will look sweet partially clothed (thanks sniper 😄), but if not, I'll just wrap 'em all the way up.

IMO, they get too fat at the top with tape and the chunky aero profile. But each to their own.

I don't know about protocol but my FSA K-wings are wrapped halfway across the top. I use the top of the bars when I'm sitting up talking to friend or trying to catch my breath after a killer hill or sprint. Works fine for me. Don't see the need to wrap all the way to the stem especially with the contours of the bar nor do I like my hands that close together on my bar.

I've wrapped my k-wings just past the levers, just to the bend on the top, before they flatten out. I've seen it done both ways though, but I think it looks a little strange when they're wrapped all the way to the stem (is there even enough bar tape to do that??).

True: it can be pretty friggin' hard to wrap some modern bars cleanly, with all the additional bulk and contouring they add to them. Another justification for stopping short, if that's what you're leaning towards.
