WTB: 16" 349 36 hole rims

Try gaerlan.com. They have both 16" sizes, both wheels and rims.

IMO, a 16 inch wheel with 36 spokes is way overbuilt. You could
probably get away with 18 spokes.

I tried looking at the Sun-Ringle website [1], but gave up to the poor
design - it is not possible to search or sort rims by size. Time to get
a new website developer.

They have to be that expensive to pay for Sun-Ringle's website designer.

It would be helpful if Sun-Ringle's website was organized in a manner
that allowed one to determine such products were available.

On an another matter - why do we have ISO 349-mm, ISO 355-mm and ISO
369-mm sizes? They do not differ enough to have any practical
advantages/disadvantages over each other, but drive up prices due to the
lower volume sold for each tire/rim size.

My God! Here is Mr. Tom Sherman getting up at 5:00 o'clock in the morning. I
have never been up that early in my entire life unless I have been up all
the previous night - which occurs quite frequently. He is an earnest eager
beaver to arise so early in the AM and then to post on ARBR at this early
hour puts him in Ripley's "Believe It Or Not" for me.

I have resolved to get up by 12 noon, but lately it has been more like 3:00
PM. I miss most of the day that way and I think I am missing most of my life

It'sad that importers are shying away from the 349mm. We've been trying to
order those for ages. Maybe only choice now is Velocity.

On a good note, the 305mm size is gaining popularity. Sun apparently makes a
36hole 305mm Rhynolite. We will carry those early in the year. The Sun rep at
Interbike informed us that BMX makers are making 16" wheeld bike now, thus the
demand.

The only ISO 349-mm Velocity rims I saw on their website [1] are the
32-hole Aeroheat and 32-hole Velodisc. No 36-hole ISO 349-mm and no ISO
305-mm rims.

If I ever put a disc brake on my Sunset, I would likely use the new
Rhyno-Lite rim with a 53-305 Schwalbe City Jet tire.

Schwinn insisting on their own proprietary size did not help matters.
Fortunately, almost all new bikes use ISO 559-mm "26-inch" tires, unless
they are TT, "Tri" or small frame road bikes, then they use ISO 571-mm.

However, ISO 349-mm, ISO 355-mm, and ISO 369-mm tires/wheels are all
being used on new bikes/trikes.

There may still be some ruthlessly iconoclastic manufacturers of Bicycles
for Tinies using 440's, though I really can't be bothered to go and look, as
