    A few years ago some of you guys were kind enough to supply some info
    on how to mathematically estimate the power savings possible with Zipp
    404 wheels over normal wheels based on their published resistance
    numbers.

    I cannot locate this thread, as it seems to have been expunged.

    Anyone feel like showing the math again?

    As the curmudgeon, gotta remind you that these 'pure' numbers come from
    a wind tunnel. Other tough to predict and control factors like the
    weather and rider's performance, is at least as important. But tough to
    use to sell wheels.

    As the curmudgeon, gotta remind you that these 'pure' numbers come from
    a wind tunnel. Other tough to predict and control factors like the
    weather and rider's performance, is at least as important. But tough to
    use to sell wheels.

    I know. My Deep V's are good enough for me. I'm of the opinion that for
    my purposes, even if it would help, it doen't matter because there are
    as you say so many other variables that have a greater effect that any
    benefit would probably be lost in the noise.

    But this is for a buddy who really wants some, can afford them, but
    needs some sort of technical info to convince himself that he isn't
    just indulging a whim. (Even if he is!) I told him I once calculated
    that 40kmh with 404's was equalt to 37kmh with standard 32 rims. He
    wants to see the math, but I only plugged in values to equations some
    of the math guys here supplied.

    37 (the 37 kmh speed that you mentioned later in the thread that you
    had calculated):

    I tried "joseph 404 watts" and similar but couldn't find it. Loose nut

    Is it allowed to use wheels that are demonstrated fast in the wind
    tunnel and also work on rider performance? Or are those two things
    mutually exclusive and you have to pick one or the other?
