Looks like the new trigger system from SRAM has some results in the Pro
races, but I was wondering what the feedback from normal riders has
been - searched this group but did not see a dedicated thread.

Are the new SRAM triggers and deraileurs finally worthy of dethroning
Shimano?

As far as the shifters go My buddy broke 2 of the x-9 trigger shifters.Don't
get me wrong I use Sram shifters and derailers and have been for years.I
just think the trigger shifters are to fragile we only ride XC and live in
Indiana .My Xo shifters and both my 9.0 shifters are working great all are
twisters .

I use the x-9 on my recumbent and they work great. better shifting then shimano
and it costs less too.

I think the one piece now throughout their range shifters mated to
'back-fire plus' rising rate rear ders has unseated shimano all by
itself. BUT Sram triggers, coming as separate from the brake levers,
gives all sorts of versatility if you don't want shimano brakes, plus
the expense of killing one( a high probability with shimano) is less
than Sram. No single for shimano available AFAIK..

The rear der, with a design that won't smack the chainstay in rough
riding is another plus for Sram.

shimano in their 'total integratiopn' scheme, and predatory OEM pricing
is tryin' hard to hurt Sram, but many riders are pretty smart and see
that Sram is a better idea.
