Hello all,

My name is Tom Hardy and i'm an ammatuer cyclist from New York, currently living in India. I just joined these forums as a chance to show you all about my new creative project, but i think there's a lot more that i can learn from this community regarding my cycling as well.

Continuing the subject, I was exited to see a cyclist community so i wanted to share a cycle racing card game that i recently designed. It is a strategy game with importance given bring in the feel of cycling but the best part is that it can be played with only 18 cards. You are a professional cyclist going head to head with your opponent player racing around a race track made up with placing 6 cards besides each other. You can use your energy, shift gears, save your stamina, draft, sprint, attack, hydrate... and outwit your opponent!

You can find more about it on its facebook page here:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cadence/1606153196326053

You can read the rules for the game here:
https://www.dropbox.com/home/Cadence%20-%20road%20racing%20championship?preview=Cadence+-+rules+sheet+1.2.pdf

I am collaborating with an artist friend to actually have it professionally produced and we are planning to launch a crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter in August.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your interest and hope you guys will like it! Any feedback/comments/critiques are welcome of course. :)

hehehe

Yep, its one of the first "card games" about road biking. Most of the card gamers are not really into the theme i guess. But i'm trying take a risk and make my own little audience.

Thanks! I hope it does. I'm very exited about it. I am right now just trying to find my audience with cycling fans and people who like card games. That's why i made the facebook page. If any of you guys are interested in getting updates on this, you can 'like' the page so you'll know all that will be coming up! :) Anyway, thanks again for the interest.

Wow, this sounds like a very interesting game. I am going to check it out. Right now, I do not have anyone who would be interested in challenging me with this game. I am going to mention it to a few others and see if I can find someone to challenge me. I am really interested in checking it out.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the interest!

I am very glad that you like the you are interested in playing it. We plan on doing to first print run with a Kickstarter campaign in August. But till then, you can always try out the prototype copies if you want!

Here is Printable version of the game where you'll have to print the pages in color or in B&W, cut the cards, paste the back of the cards to the fronts and play! Here is the link to the PDF file:

It's only 18 cards so 2 pages of card front and 2 of backs. If you can do double sided printing that might also save you some time. For the rules you can see a link in the first post.

Instead if you want an actual prototype of the game shipped to you, you can also actually purchase it here:https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/cadence

This a print on demand company who only prints a game when there's a buyer. We're not going to be using this when I print the final copies for the campaign though as it's pretty costly for that. But a nice tool to share your prototype though.

If you do end up playing the game, I would love to know how your plays went and any feedback if you have! We are still refining and polishing things so we would also consider any suggestions as well. You can just post here or mail me at [email protected]

Thanks again and I hope you all will be interested when we launch the campaign!:D

Oops sorry, I don't know how it got posted three times and I don't really know how to delete it. :/

Hey guys,

So i've started a blog about this topic. I will be writing about what i learnt about designing a card game and how this game was created right upto when we Kickstart. And oh yes, the campaign will be a just little bit postponed so we might launch in the first week of september, but i will keep this thread updated about that and all the other stuff. Anyway, for any and all interested, here it is -

Thanks!

I think it is a nice idea to document every stage or step of your development via the blog you posted above. I wonder if the design or art if you may call it is already final or could yous till modify it to fit a wider range of audience?

Let us the know the kickstarter/indiegogo campaign as soon as it's ready to be funded. I'd like to chip in.

Mmmm intriguing. I'm not into card games, but looks like most ideas, as long as is well executed, can bring succesful results. Keep us updated.

Sounds really cool, I'll definitely check out your game. I love board and card games, I even developed my own homebrew trading card game back in the late 90's when I was heavily into Magic: The Gathering. It was yet another fantasy themed card game which I only played with my friends. But I never thought someone would come up with a cycling card game!

Nice work, if you could make it into a phone app you would make killing. Board games aren't as popular now as they were some years ago, but it does look interesting.

Hey there Tom Hardy this is Brad Pit and I have to say I love the idea :)
Having this kind of commitment to cycling is very inspiring actually and the game looks like a fun game. You can always put some new features and that is a nice thing to do. I really didn't know that meaning of cadence. I always thought that it was only about music and speech but I was wrong obviously.

First of all, great work! Seems like you did a lot to make this happen and it sure does look, I'll give it a look and a try later on. Then I'll post the feedback in here!
