I'm trying to get around the Cross Country Course at the Sea Otter Class with a Jamis 29er with 1x9 gearing and a 36 tooth rear cassette.
Never done the course before it's a ***** at 57. 19 miles of pain and I was wondering if I chose the right bike for the job or if my dumb ass is just to old to push those gears up hill.
I pre ran it yesterday and bonked the last two miles on the uphill to the finish despite downing 24oz bottle of complex carb loaded sauce during the 2 hours it took to get around.
Maybe I should stick to downhill where gravity is my friend.
