What was the last thing you've bought for your bike?

A new gizmo to remove and install tires. Rehook Tire Glider, just ordered so have not tried it yet. Anxious to test since my tires are extremely tight (Conti Gatorskin). Dread to change tubes!

Not at all boring . Velcro straps are gr8 and nut simple .
I'd many a time attached a pump spare ect to bike with velcro its holding my spare tube and multi too neatly under my saddle. Just dont like bags...

Lately I've a coban obsession . You know the cohesive bandage used to provide compression in sports . Also holds bandages in place , could be used in emergency to wrap a improv split to stabilize a limb .

coban can"wrap" things to the frame ect for things my jersey pockets or saddlebag cant accommodate. Sorry to derail your post!

picked up a helmet yesterday while at costco. Has MIPS sticker and looks like to be a well made helmet. I'm going to trust it.
Has a 53-60cm ( universal ?) sizing but much more comfortable for my head shape than others regardless of size. This helmet sits way down on your head. Marketed as A "Dirt, Gravel or Road helmet . For me will be my commuter gravelish hybrid bike / backup helmet .
Has the funny " push off sideways" under chin strap release and magnetic clip thing for the fastener. The MIPS liner inner liner and outer shell looked decent , some removable thin velcro padding and a very short visor. The snugging mechanism dial works at the back works very well. Available there in the store in Charcoal or Grapite color. On the heavy side at 350g.

For $14.95 its a good cheap back up and IMO good for the large oval shape head.

Bought cheap $25 pair of adjustable weight dumbbells locally. Min weight of each is 5.5 lbs and goes to 44 lbs in roughly 3 lb increments for a total of 88 lbs (pair).

The kind with multiple cement+iron filled plastic "plates" and plastic bars. So very cheap looking. A perfectly identical product can be found in Ebay or Amazon for at least $100 got me mystified. Perhaps it costs that much more to ship the product to USA than here from China, being quite heavy.

I embarrassed myself taking the package from the receiving office at the lobby of our apartment. I couldn't lift it! So I had to borrow a push cart and asked staff to help me put the box into the cart! At our apartment, I only managed to get the box up to the door step and opened the box right then and there so I can take the plates piece by piece instead of the life and death struggle dragging the whole box to wherever they need to be.

Needed it for strength training for cycling. I'm just borrowing my mom's dumbbells that's 6 lbs (12 lbs pair). Then went 11 lbs (22 lbs pair) with the new adjustable dumbell. Doing lunges and core strength exercises with it.

I had a wake up call few weeks ago. I didn't realized I had gone weak from cycling. Though my endurance has never been this good my whole life, my muscular strength and bone density have deteriorated. Definitely needed to get my strength and stronger bones back. I started running too to also help restore bone density and strength.

On the heavy side at 350g.
Yup, no good for long rides on a road bike, will hurt your neck. Only good for shorter rides on more upright bikes.

Wore that cheap Costco helmet this AM's ride.
Being 4am and that it is white and with a little taillight.

My Giro Register (278g) is my only real road helmet. It fits but don't love it.
Still looking for my perfect road helmet - at any price. Something less huge looking!
I'd tested & tried on, and sent back so many helmets in the last year it's silly.

I just got a new chain, and spent thev money on a decent Ultegra version. Before that I brought something really boring: a 1m, 10cm wide, velcro strap to stop my pannier bag from wobbling!

Had a busy week on ebay. :D

Not me. Last time ordered 2 was 2021. 23s and sadly I ordered 5 other tires a year before that as I run 25 and 28 on our tandem. But too wide for my Madone so I still have some rubber lying

BeanZ weren't you just ordering tires a while back ????

My recent purchase saved my palms& fingertips today. I don't sweat through the hands.
full fingered light glovers .

I classify gloves as protective gear both from road rash and UV radiation from the sun. Thus, I also have full fingered ones!

Personally, I don't think gloves improve hand comfort. My 5+ hr rides without gloves doesn't feel any different than the same length rides with gloves. Perhaps because I already have thickly wrapped handlebar.

...a friend for my bike.

It's "on loan" till I decide. If I do buy it first thing I'll do is put 28mm Conti GP's on it.
A Robaix . It's at most 18lbs wth (?) CF frame obviously , simple aluminum wheels, nice hubs. I dunno about the goofy bend in stays and fork with "dampener"

Carbon bar, carbon seat post -dura ace brakes and derailuers. I'd just got home with it 5 minutes ago hadn't even googled the year ect...chain& drivetrain has zero wear measured with my little tool.

I think make gr8 training bike. what you think? It's an endurance bike obviously .
how much might you spend tops, knowing the market is full of these aging but perfectly good rim brake QR wheeled bikes. Would of course swap the keo pedals on my current bike over to this. And it'll need a cassette . Just a 10 speed bike , but nice upgrade from the Scott's 7 speed cassette.
Wife be home soon . I'm going to hear about this one .

Roubaix bikes are always weird. They always put experimental stuff in it to even out bumps. Most of these tech don't really stick. I don't know, I never owned one, and probably never will even if I want to!

They also make good gravel bikes if will fit at least 35 mm wide tires. Have it checked at a CF specialist to make sure none of the CF parts are cracked or delaminated.

This bike could take I'd guess by looking a 30mm max tire. I've not looked around online for much answers yet . The 25's currently on it measure 26.5mm and I'm fixing to go at least to 28mm. Want conti GP's so I can compare them almost directly with the Corsa on the other good bike. Might influence what tire I run come replacement time or unexpected damage.
Yeah the dampener thing apparently urethane or similar material there's a few depressions in the frame and fork where a glob of the stuff it bolted in place through the frame /fork Seatpost on my model SL3 has the material in seaport as well blending into carbon down a ways . It's at least not dark yellow or cracking .
I saw a bike on E bay similarly equipt . With the stock DT Swiss wheels ( tripled butted? ) the bike had a spec listed ( pic of the scale ) showing 16Lbs 15 oz. that's 7.68kg ?
This bike Im considering is a one owner bike , a small person like us.
I been tapping and crawling all over it looking for issues with a bright light. Plan to ride tomorrow. There's no obligation to buy the bike or pay up right away.

And indeed I've concerns of riding someone else's CF bike or components. Stuff we'd discussed mainly catastrophic failure. Being said may or may not seek such expert.

If I do go ahead my wife expecting me to dump one of my other bikes. I explained the cheaper bike could be kept for emergency parts ect.

Having a
Cruiser bike
Dads older Cruiser bike ( family heirloom)
Her Cruiser bike
My MTB ( entry level hardtail )
My citi-bike ( gifted from friend)
Used cheap Road bike
Nice Endurance bike
Cheap used CF bike (if I decide to buy)
is not too many bikes .

Someone needs to tell her how lucky she is I don't want a fixie .a track bike ,CX bike or a gravel bike ect .

The gravel paths I'd like to ride would be sufficient for 30mm wide tires.

Wow that's a lot of bikes! I'm only limited to one, can't even swap it for another! Definitely want more choices like another bike, a folder for emergencies and can be carried inside the bus.

Went to Laughlin for the weekend and since I don't lose money gambling, I buy bike stuff. Mother in law and Gina feel a sense of fun tossing money into a machine. $400 down the tubes is fun?!.

Heck, I'll people watch and spend $20 here and there on my bike. :D

Red mount to suspend one of my lights under the bars. 3 tubes gel for the hr monitor, and a base for the GPS mount. Just for kicks.

I have a Black mount like this red one packed away in storage somewhere. Didn't work well with the go pro recorder showing too much vibration in the footage. So I'm going to test it with the lights. It is 360 degree rotational but little play I the barrel so we'll see.
