Pick any link on top, it will tell you that "complex carbohydrates"
are starchy foods, one example of which is pringles.

So, if all complex carbs are basically the same (more or less),
then an elite runner should do well on a diet of Pringles, as
according to you there's no difference between them and say,
whole wheat pasta or brown rice.

I did not say that there is no difference between, say, pringles and
pasta. There is, for example pringles have fat in them and pasta may
    or may not contain fat,

All foods contain fats. Even a carrot has fat.

It's not that simple. Your health, metabolism,
and energy levels throughout the day are also a
function of the types of foods you eat. You could
eat nothing but candy bars but you'll be hyperglycemic

essential amino acids) or fats (with a variety of different fatty
acids, some essential). Our bodies can make fats out of carbs, but not
every kind of fat that we need, only some kinds.

The body will store as fat all excess food you eat,
    especially proteins.

    ROTFLMAO

Come to think of it, pringles, as complex carbohydrates, may indeed
find many buyers -- complex carb lovers -- from this newsgroup!

I would imagine most people on the group would be intelligent
enough to realize the difference between Pringles and wholesome
complex carbohydrates. You one the other hand seem to believe
that it's all the same. If that were true, an elite athlete could do
well on a diet of Pringles.

Your logic is like saying all cars are horrible because the Yugo
was. To you, a Yugo, a Ferrari, and a Ford are exactly the same,
because they are labelled under the general term "cars".

Yes, one cup of carrots contains approximately 0.3 grams of fat!

Yes but you said "pasta may or may not contain fat."
My point was no such thing as "fat free." Yet another
    health and media fallacy...

Well, a pasta cooked with butter would have fat, and plain pasta would
    not. That's what I meant.

    Pasta cooked with butter would have saturated fats;
pasta cooked without would still have fat but not
    saturated fats.

    I agree.

All I'm saying is the issue is the type of carbs
you eat. It is an issue is whether they are refined
    or not.

    Also quite true.

I can get fat eating apples and carrots. But
    fatter eating pringles 🙂

  7. Now see...this is a difference between you and me David. You're
ripping a neophyte (and you know it). It's not a fair fight. I and
anyone can rip Ig on most all his postings. The neophytes should be
treated with kid gloves. OK, sometimes I slip and rip a newbie...but I
try not to. You can easily point them in the right direction, if
that were your interest....as opposed to making the less experienced
    and knoweldged feel small.

Now you, Tim in the UK?....You're fair game and I'll poke fun as you
    MF'ers all day! LOL!

What makes you take a logical leap from knowing that I was nominated
for Troll of the year in 1996, to concluding that I cannot, therefore,
    believe in low carbing?
