"I just tried to do my work," Museeuw said on Saturday after the Belgian newspaper De Morgen published excerpts from the official record of the prosecutor in the case that probed text messages sent between Museeuw and veterinary surgeon Jose Landuyt, who is under investigation for trafficking illegal drugs.

I am watching the 2002 Paris Roubaix right now. The advantage he had over Hincapie, Boonen and Wessemen was considerable.
He gave them 2+ minutes in the last 50 km. 36 years old and he rides away from a group of talented riders.
And Tafi in the Ronde 2002?
Mapei and Domo were both pretty dirty teams. Sad to see Mapei leave the sport as a big sponsor because of it, although the family that owns Mapei will always support cycling in one way or another.

And if you look at the lead article of the same web page that Lafferty links above you will see:
"Armstong scores in libel suit, paper reports"
"The British Guardian newspaper reported Saturday that Lance Armstong had scored 'a significant victory' in his libel suit against The Sunday Times and its chief sportswriter, David Walsh."
Hmmm.... I wonder why Lafferty didn't mention that article?

Good, I am glad he won. People should shut-up until they have proof.
But... I'll be happy when they finally catch him. The proof is out there - in our sport it always is.

That's a really good question since The Guardian is one of his favorite newspapers that he defends as totally unbiased. He is convinced that if it's there it's God's own Truth, or so it seems to me. Bill C

He won a libel suit, and so he should have. But this does not prove him clean.

As has been stated too many times here before, it's impossible to prove a negative.
K. Gringioni.
You won't have to prove a negative indefinitely in Lance's case. He is a doper, evidence surely exists, and enough people dislaike him that eventually he will be outed.

Can't be God's own truth for two reasons: 1. Goedel's Theorem; 2. God is dead.
Brian you have continually made the point that Molly Ivins, Krugman, etc.. are the only honest journalists left. The Guardian would, and has declared the IDF killing a suicide bomber before he/she was able to set it off as an Israeli crime. Al Manzar has been banned as a propaganda arn in France and the US, Next is Al-jazeera I hope since they have been tied to the terrorists as doing their propaganda. See the videotap linking then to the Husseins and their choice to hide the slaughter of other Arabs so that they could stay on the air. AP has also admitted that they tailor their news coverage to present the terrorists in a positive light so that their correspondents aren't killed. You rip the US for restricting press freedom but have NOTHING to say about the other side's coerced propaganda. Bill C

All that is correct, but the result is that in the Arab world it's skewed drastically to one side, in our country it's skewed drastically to the other side and the rest of the world gets a balanced view.
Our media never challenged the pre-war WMD rationale. That's one reason why we are where we are right now, with the armies in both Iraq (unecessary war) and Afghanistan (necessary war) undermanned. K. Gringioni.

The reasons are quite simple. I decided not to comment before having read the entire ocurt decision. I was about two pages into a 23 page decision when we had a power failure due to the ice stom we have had today. After 2+ hours of no power, voila--the power is back on.
UK libel law is frankly arcaine.
<snip>
And from the UK perspective, US libel law is ...............??? Lets not even talk about the rest of the US legal system lest we have to hear Lafferty redefine himself into respectability. Lafferty could be the quintessential posterchild of the folks who middleman [censored] flow and wish it to retain a common perception of value.

I've never said they were the only honest journalists. The can stand on their own without a defense from me. And, neither of them write for the Guardian. And I never said the Gaurdian is without its bias/point of view.

It's always best to read a variety of news ouotlets. That why I even scan the Bush house newspaper--The Washington Times.

Those along with Dowd and several Guardian editorialists are what you send along to everyone. Almost none of the stuff is even close to balanced. It's the same [censored] Drudge and Limbaugh put out, but for the other side. It really doesn't seem to matter to you how credible the source is, or how well researched the piece is. If it's something that you agree with it's gospel, if you disgree it's garbage no matter what it's merits.
