  1. RW: Before jumping into treatment, try to figure out the CAUSE of your
Achilles injury. Try the Cause of Achilles tendon injury page of
www.AchillesTendon.com which I found very helpful. Once you figure out
the cause, then move on the the treatment, don't jump right to people's
    treatment suggestions. Phoebe.

Pheobe is right on both counts Find the cause of any injury, which
usually falls into two categories, biomechanical and/or overuse, and
verify any advice via web pages or a doc before treatment. There is a
lot of variability in caring for an injury and what works for one may
    not work for another.

That's a good web page for everyone to bookmark

Great advice! I believe this is why I suffer so few injuries, and almost never
a repeat injury. I firmly believe in finding the cause of an injury first, then
concentrating on fixing the cause. By the time you do this, you'll be healed.

True. Unfortunately, in my case, the cause is usually "running".... :-)

Naw, it's HOW you are running that's causing the problem.
