I recall someone recommending the Chuck Taylor All Stars Sneakers for
    squatting.

I have a couple questions as I am thinking about ordering a pair.

Do they run true to size. I have read conflicting reports ranging from
true to size to a full size too large. I wear a 10.5 and can only
choose between 10 and 11. Does anyone use these and give me
    suggestion.

IMO, Get the larger size. Better too long than too short. I hate the
    cramped toes feeling.

Also should I get the hitop or low top.

High top. They look goofy enough. The low cuts are worse.
Why should I care? I don't really, but I could do with out the
pointing & funny looks I get at the gym.

Get them anyway or at least some flat shoe. It made a difference for
    me.

Check this out just for yuks.

And of course converse.com to see all the variations available.

Yes, it's the shoes that get you the funny looks. You keep telling yourself
    that, if it helps 🙂

My CTs do seem to run a bit bigger than my Nikes or New Balances. Maybe
    because of the "flatness".

Mine run smaller. I usually wear an 8 or so in street shoes, a 7.5 in
New Balance running shoes, and my CT's are a 7. Strictly low tops for
me - my high-instep feet mean I have to do a lot of lacing and unlacing
    if I wear high tops.

I wore mine to my last two (which is also to say my first two)
powerlifting meets - they work great. I get mine from

How can you get into size seven if they run *smaller*???

Uh, I dunno. Whatever, like, you know, I mean, aw, foo.
