I've just been looking on Ebay to see if there are any bargains to be had
for lights, locks or multitools.
Anyways, I thought "I'll browse rather than search"
Go to the "Cycling accessories" category and all you can see is bloody
charity wristbands. Yes, I know Lance started all this off with Livestrong
but come on, these are charity items which are now being sold off at stupid
profits. And you just know most of them are fake - Somebody out there is
making FAKE CHARITY GOODS! What next, counterfeit poppies?
Also there are "Make povery history" wristbands which look like they were
made in a 3rd World sweatshop.
The ones that p*** me off the most though are the people selling those Radio
1 "Beat the bully" bands, which were free.
Are tools/lights/pumps no longer used in the world of cycling?
Has everything been replaced by a little ring of silicon rubber?
Maybe I should get my new bike, and wrap a load of these rubber rings around
the tyres making them puncture proof, and wrap a few around my head, making
it safer - allegedly, although studies have shown otherwise 😉
Apologies for the rant but maybe I'll just have a look in the LBS tomorrow
rather than Ebay.
