You just cross posted Andrew go killfile yourself.
Thanks, ironjustice/Tom, for disproving your own point. It's not just high iron, because if it were, these Asian people would be dropping dead like flies of "chronic diseases," but instead the opposite is true. They eat lots of coconut product, so according to our "experts," the combination of "saturated fat" and high iron should be absolutely horrible, yet the opposite is the case (just review the WHO statistics for yourself). It is the combination of high iron and high unsaturated fatty acids that is a terrible combination, though a high antioxidant diet would obviously help to some degree.
From 1987 to 1995, the number of Hepatitis B cases among Asian American
and Pacific Islander children decreased from 10,817 to 4,207 cases. However, this number is still two to three times higher than for all children in the United States.
<<snip>>
Seeing that Hepatitis is being halted in its tracks by .. iron .. reduction .. then the statistic above would rule IN .. excess .. iron .
Of course elevated iron levels are NOT .. involved ..
Eh ..
How about .. diabetes ..?
Highest rate of type 2 .. again .. ONLY .. a coincidence .. type 2 is causes by .. iron ..
And since they DO have very high rates of diseases ASSOCIATED with iron overload .. diabetes / hepatitis .. then that would mean .. the researchers .. simply .. missed the iron ..
The iron .. BELOW .. what the researchers believe CONSTITUTE .. iron overload .. ACTUALLY .. is .. causing .. problems .. and therefore .. technically .. DO .. have .. iron overload ..
Minor .. elevated iron levels .. ENOUGH .. to give them high rates of diabetes type 2 and / or hepatitis ..
Simple ..
Just like the rate of diabetes in Asians ..
Not related to iron levels six months ago .. but surprisingly .. today ... it .. seems ..
In many of the studies you cite, the investigators address lipid peroxidation/PUFA consumption. Iron is a nasty co-factor, and this study really drives the point home. In type II diabetes, arachidonic acid causes terrible glycation problems, which may be the most important factor in terms of the symptoms. I posted the key Xu, et al. study here a long time ago. I'm curious, do you think you can eat all the PUFAs you want and everything will be fine? The evidence is against this, as you should know.
