bread-spread was the best for pre and post run, they all picked peanut

digestive ouchies, it was really popular. And the one time I didn't use
it, I suffered. Anyone else find that weird?
Not at all, you're used to what you're used to.
Never muck with things on raceday.
Oooh, yeah, it sounded like that. I meant did anyone find it weird that
so many people thought peanut butter was a good pre-race food?!
It was funny, the one thing I was totally unprepared for on race day was
what to do in between races, nutritionally, when the first one was such
a killer. And after suffering massive pain on day one, I went overboard
with eating solid food on day two, without checking the start time of
the second race, which was an hour earlier than I thought... oops.
That's okay, I kept it down.

Fear of divorce? Might be unfounded however SHMBO did tell me about a
fellow gym goer who's leaving her husband 'cause he rides 700 km a
week. A bit of idle gossip or a subtle hint? ;-)

Why did she want a divorce? She would've been better off asking for a
bicycle! Then they could ride off into the sunset together...
gross generalisation : partners don't *get* riding. They think it's a
Oh yeah, that riding off into the sunset was me fantasising about cycle
touring. Oops.

recovery rides are frustrating for both people 🙁
That sounds like me riding with my ex, who was a super-fit runner who
would flog me on runs (once I collapsed, I was working so hard, and I
tried to tell him I wanted to stop but couldn't get enough air to do
so). So I'd be all "Hey sweetie, come for a river ride with me" and
about five minutes later I'd lose my temper: "Crikey, you could've
pointed out that big f'off hole you rode us through, how about you just
sit in back for a while" or "Use your f'ing small chain ring, d'head",
or on rides with my squad I'd get told off by my mates because he
wouldn't ride in proper knicks and would wear footy shorts over the top
because knicks were a "bad look" but "sorry sweetie, look at yourself,
THAT's a bad look, wtf are you wearing a cotton tshirt for when you're
TRAINING", and then "hey, eat something for f's sake, I don't want to
drag you home."
