BJ,
I am suspicious too. That's why I posted:
"... I got one pertinent reply, referring me to a commerical
product.." The suggestion and site www.lef.org refers me to some $100
a month vitamins. IMHO, it makes expensive yellow [censored]. :-)))
No it does not. I have found many diabetics are diabetic because of
stupid attitudes like that. There are stacks and stacks of studies that
show various compounds (be it vitamin, mineral, fatty acid, etc, etc)
can greatly Improve the diabetic state, due to reduced oxidative stress,
improve glucose disposal, and so on. You wanted a solid answer and some
direction, and you were so given it.

Rephrasing my original question:
I had much muscle weakness and fatigue for the week or so before I
took the simple over the counter multi-vitiamin.
Is there anything missing or in too low a quantity for a 50 year old
type-2 diabetic wanting to add muscle in the gym? I'm very healthy
with the exception of well controlled type-2 diabetes.
The question was answered, repeating it (because you don't appear to
like the answer) wont change that reality.
