his tire, and then landed just right to get caught by his foot. It went
thru the SIDE of his shoe (not the carbon sole - maybe he should wear
jungle boots) and thru his peterson orhtotic (which is pretty rigid,
and expensive, now busted) and then into the upper portion of his arch.
It was so cold it kept it from swelling.
He was able to ride the trainer with a sandle yesterday, but still
couldnt get his foot into his shoe. He wanted VERY MUCH to race the
world cup with this form, of course. You have to notify them in
advance if you are pulling out, and I guess you need a valid excuse and
all or they actually fine you for not starting. So he didnt dare wait
till the morning of.
But cyclocross is about racing in whatever conditions there are. Mud, snow,
sand... A little bit o' gangrene is just one bit of the conditions, right?
Anyway, I hope he isn't too badly hurt and can do the next bunch of races. His
form does seem to be pretty good right now.
