If you're planning on *racing* the 5k, regardless of your pace, the "usual" rule of thumb is to
figure on adding about 20 degrees fareheit to the ambient temp, and that's what it will feel like to
your body. IOW, dress like it would be 65-70 degrees, as once you hit your stride in the race pretty
much all of what you are planning on wearing will be too much.
But again, everyone is different and reacts to weather in all its forms differently...for me, shorts
and singlet would do just fine for the race, with something warmer for your pre-race routine....
