Awesome tune. Funny thing is I've been listening to it like crazy since last September and now, all of sudden, it's a top 40 hit that they're playing like mad on the radio. It's interesting to me how they trickle out songs from an album.

I dance around the kitchen to that song on my i-pod while cooking or doing the dishes and the kids just laugh and say "Mom must be listening to All Summer Long again" :o and hubby gets annoyed because I can't hear anything they say to me (hhhmm, maybe that's on purpose? 😄 )

Well...it is very sad...and as anyone living with cancer or something can also tell you...live the life you have TODAY!!

I read a quote the other day that said something like..."if you knew you were going to die soon, and you could only make one phone call, who would you call and what would you say? ...and what are you waiting for? " 😉

(I read that to my dad, the King of all Literalists, and he said, 😕 I guess I'd call your mother and say, "Honey, I'm going to die soon." 🙄 He still doesn't know why that made me laugh so hard.)

I think I would call the top medical researcher and say " get off your fat lazy a** and find that cure NOW! 😄
I do agree with your point and have been trying to live each day to the fullest since the death of my son in 2001. He would have expected no less of me.
I recommend this for everyone. Train hard, play hard, dance, sing Karaoke and get naked. 😉
Of course not necessarily all at the same time.

Very well, thanks. He went back to work today in fact. So life can now go back to something called "normal." :p And my post a minute ago made it sound like perhaps he was dying, which is not the case. He will go by foul play first, I promise...😉 😄 I'm kidding...😉

This place is probably the only thing that kept my spirits up during some very long days.

Will be a couple of weeks before we know if radiation is recommended...we've already sort of accepted that...but they may say not to do it...or not yet or whatever. You're in for a five year deal anyway...if it doesn't come back within 5 years you're considered cancer-free or cured or whatever. What it really means is that statistically, you're just like everybody else again, in terms of risk. But until then they watch you like a hawk.

No matter what happens tho...he'll never have to have his tonsils out again...and for that we are both thankful!! It was every bit as bad as they said it would be...

So, everyone, if you can't be happy about anything else today...at least you can enjoy swallowing... so eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow they may take your tonsils out...:p

If you've lost a child, then I guess there is nothing worse than that...🙁

But, as you pointed out, these desperately sad things must make us live with more courage...and appreciate every day we have.

I knew that you weren't referring to him in your post, but it was a good time to ask about him. It is good that they watch you like a hawk for a few years, since the worst thing about cancer is how it is often caught late. Keep us posted with updates.

Speaking of taking tonsils out, don't they do that if you get accute tonsilitis? I know I have been threatened with that when I was a kid. Don't recall how I escaped though. 😄

They really don't like to take your tonsils out once you're an adult., not even for tonsilitis. (I had mine out at five...the only things I remember are that I didn't get to eat breakfast that day, and I got cherry popsicles in the hospital. ) My husband (let's just call him Boris or something)...Boris has an area in his throat 3 times the size of even a regular tonsillectomy. Not fun.

I don't know what she got, but he already bought them (end of season last year at a close out sale). Wish not, because I would have gone off your recommendation otherwise.

Yeah, TDL, it's ruining my summer and depressing me because he's already counting down to winter and as you know, summer isn't THAT long in the great lakes region as it is. 😠 😄

I was kidding j. After all, if the kids aren't home (which is rare), I'm not going to be spending my time cooking. 😄

It was a long time ago, but when my sister and I were 11 we kept having boughts of tonsilitis. They had to get the infection down before they could remove our tonsils. They kept giving us penicilin shots and then took them out in the summer (worst time for a kid, except for the ice cream part)!

For some reason they wouldn't let me have ice cream...I can torment my mom to this day, because she promised me all the ice cream I could eat, but then they said NO...funny thing is I don't even remember that...but damn, does she still feel guilty...:p

(I take it you're a twin....sounds like your sister is visible to others...😉 :p )
