Different body types often do better at different event types. Looking at the pro peleton there's actually quite a bit of variety. Weight can come from musculature, bone size/density, fluid retention which will all certainly vary between individuals. Super low body fat (not neccesarily weight) can compromise certain physiological functions (like storing fat soluble vitamins). But as long as one is healthy, there's really no such thing as 'too light' for competition, only 'too slow'. It sounds like you have potential for a great power to weight ratio.

I have great weight to power ratio. My weight overpowers my ratio.

Ain't it the truth. I can muster the mental fortitude to run at redline for an hour but get me near that cheese tray and I'm helpless.

This year I made a good attempt at not drinking beer...
... now I just stick a straw in the bottle and inhale it through my nose. Technically, not drinking.
-
I made a promise to not drink any more. I balanced this act of discipline by promising to not drink any less.

I'm 5 ft 9 inches. My bike plus my body weight total 143 lbs.

Lance Armstrong is 5' 9 1/2" and weights 157 pounds (according to this bio)... and he seemed to do pretty good compared to the rest of the guys he hung with.

Do you know what your body fat percentage is? I'm guessing 4 or 5 %

Cycling can train the organism to use up fat reserves and also changes the cholesterol balance, favouring the protective kind over that which is threatening to health. As body weight reduces and cholesterol is optimised, a protective mechanism is enabled by continuing to cycle. Regular exercise during youth is a prevention factor against excessive body weight in adults.
