Now we can appreciate fan-ism to a point. Throw in a tag here or there, if it is relevant. What we've got in the little cycling world is promo addicts. Soul selling for next to nothing. To a point where it is turning people OFF whatever they're trying to promote. Little marketing machines that only serve themselves. If people really ARE sponsored or supported, then it should be about helping the brand, not smearing it with poo trying to promote it because you have no idea.

FWIW, the rice rocket runs Goodyears and I stopped using Shell fuel when they dumped the 100 octane stuff. Their 98 octane is [censored]. #crapfuel. :-p

1) Yep. Where their audience already knows what they use, support, like, etc. Side story. I sat down in Bright at the brewery after the TT up in Goulburn and many hours in the car. 8pm at night. I needed a feed and a shower. The Mrs was involved in some conversation with someone sponsored by brand, let's call it, LARGE. Within 5 seconds of sitting down I'm given a face full of how LARGE bikes are awesome, I should ride one, people on LARGE bikes are awesome, their brand is all about THE PEOPLE. My response: "Look. They all break just the same. I know. And all this talk about 'the people'? [censored] the people. They're the cnuts I have to beat to get to the top step. Did I mention I'm a Lance fan?". Conversation over. Pizza enjoyed. There is a time and a place to preach.... and I don't do church. If only Vadar was there to high-five me for successfully cutting a conversation off I would have been happy.

When I bought my XR6 Turbo, I got on all the Ford Forums (of course :-) ), and the consensus was that BP Ultimate was a little bit better than the Shell one.
But then some guy reckons the BP Ultimate in another state wasn't as good as it was here. HA.

Yeah, I use BP Ultimate too. Although I recently chucked in a bit of 100 octane from that United servo on Centre Rd.
When I lived in NSW, it was BP Ultimate or Mobil 8000 after Shell dumped VPower Racing, that is. The Subie was happiest on 100 octane.
