Awwww. Sorry all. Poor bugger did it tough since his glory days. As did the Easybeats' bass player who I was mates with up in Lismore. They must have partied VERY hard there for a while.
I remember doing the same thing to Michael Hutchence. Playing along on my sax to INXSive in the passenger seat with a mate driving up to Brissie one night many years ago. Killed him dead.

How was the turkey? Did you toothpick bacon rashers over the breast meat so it didn't dry out? That's the best trick I ever learnt from my poultry farming father, apart from how to catch and kill and process the buggers. Actually that was all good learning, from raising one day olds to the table, and everything in between.

Nah, didn't do the bacon. Used foil which we took off for the last hour. But I like that idea. A lot. If we do it again next year, I'll giver it a go.

Are you talking about the "older, more mellow Bernard Hinault"?

It's not a great likeness, but I am so impressed with Bernard, I had to draw something. An honourable man. And I think, the last of the true champions.

Classic - I read those articles about Fignon. A perfect read after Hinault's biography. Thanks. Fignon was really impressive. A rather interesting character too.

I refuse to read the Yates one.

I'm reading 'the monuments' at the moment. It's ok but not awesome. A few little mistakes which [censored] me but generally well researched.

Have you read any Les Woodland books? (Like Paris-Roubaix: The Inside Story or The Tour of Flanders: The Inside Story etc - he's rather prolific, but the titles look a bit dorky)
