Are Zwifts race features truly competitive, or are they just a playground for wannabe pros who cant hack it in real life? It seems like every time I hop into a Zwift race, Im surrounded by riders who think theyre the next Chris Froome, but can barely hold a steady pace for more than 10 minutes. Whats the point of even having a ranking system if people are just going to sandbag their way to the top? And dont even get me started on the lack of proper bike handling skills - its like some of these riders have never even heard of cornering or braking.
If youre going to take Zwift racing seriously, shouldnt you at least have a basic understanding of how to ride a bike? I mean, come on, its not like were racing on a video game console here - were using our actual bikes and our actual sweat to compete. So, whats the secret to success in Zwift racing? Is it really just about having the right equipment and a strong internet connection, or is there actually some skill involved? And if so, how do you separate the wheat from the chaff and ensure that youre actually racing against people who know what theyre doing?
