  1. I live in NW WA. So there is plenty of rain in the winter and dry summers. What are your recomendations on a light tire for training?

I've been happy with Michelin Carbons (700x23c) as a good compromise.

    why lite?

  6. FWIW, I've heard a guy at my LBS say that Maxxis Detonators aren't generally great for puncture-resistance. I've got 28mm Maxxis Detonators on my hybrid, and I must say they seem pretty puncture-prone in the rain. Having said that, I'm a shade under 14 stone and I commute on them so admittedly they get a tough time.

I'm asking about a road tire.

As far as wieght the LBS and riders in the bike club say wheel/tire weight will make the biggest improvment.
