gap fast enough. I think it helped that it was uphill

tactical errors rather than congratulate Fred on doing
something few so far have done. I guess graciousness doesn't

i, er, fell asleep until the very end of the race today, and
waking up i was very surprised to see petacchi getting beat.
i'm glad i held off reading rbr until i watched the video!
anyway, after i woke up, i watched the slow mo a few times
cause it's so cool to see him just come out of fourth
position and hold everyone off to win 🙂

I read that as Petacchi giving Rodriguez credit for doing
what he may have known he should have. Petacchi seems to
be a pretty good winner, but he's not so bad a loser.

I'm not sure FF would agree: Then as Fassa came back up to
the front, the last guy to come around me going into the
corner was Petacchi. So coming out of the last corner I
found myself on Petacchi's wheel, but right away McEwen -
the little boxer that he is - fought for the wheel. Now in
the past, I'd wasted way too much energy fighting for
Petacchi's wheel, so I just settled in on McEwen's.

Cipo's the big dog on that team, no matter how you stack
it, his presence keeps the sponsor's money flowing in and
in turn keeps those riders employed. Bittersweet pill, no

riders he wants?

Your points are well taken and I agree that the team management should have taken his requests into consideration and given him what he wants, but that said, yes, I do blame him for publicly denigrating his teammates who no doubt were doing their best under the circumstances.
