Is there a way of preventing cancer? Please don't give me
any [censored] for asking this question please. It's just that
we talk so much of destroying the cancer that is there as
opposed to preventing it! I'm all for destroying it as
well with drugs and other forms!
It's not a bad question. The problem is, it's not just one
question, but it's many questions, one for each cancer.
Cancer is not just a single disease. For instance, there are
well-characterized ways to decrease the risk of colon cancer
and, of course, lung cancer. However, there are many other
cancers for which such strategies either don't exist or
haven't been discovered yet. Whether you realize it or not,
what you ask is an exceedingly complex question that can
only be answered for a few cancers and for which, in the
majority of cancers, the answer is not known.
