You can buy Schrader valves with a nut on it. They weigh a ton so it's probably cheaper and lighter to learn how to inflate the ones without the nut.

You should buy tubes with longer stems next time.
For now, assuming the tubes you have have threaded stems, you can carry the nut that came with the tube in your kit, and screw it on when you're ready to start inflating. Once you have a reasonable amount of pressure in the tube, the nut is no longer needed.
